Canon F-1
Canon F-1
The Canon F-1 was originally introduced in 1971, and this one was made sometime between then and 1976, when a slightly modified F-1n came out. Mine was purchased from fellow collector/photog in San Diego (my old navy stomping grounds), who had himself purchased it in a used condition. I like it because it's heavy, solid, and completely mechanical (a battery is needed for the meter, but not the operation)--and because it takes the FD-mount lenses from my other Canons. It's a beautiful addition to the family!

August 2009: The cemetery pics were shot using expired Plus-X Pan film, developed in D-76 1:1 for 7 minutes. All of them seemed a bit underdeveloped, so I may try a bit longer with the next roll.

October 2009: Brianna, the expectant mother shown here, was a "gift card client", in that she and her husband purchased my services thru a charity silent auction. As of this writing she is scheduled to have her baby this week! This is a mommy who will really care for her baby.

November 2009: The three pics following Brianna were shot using an East German Meyer Optik Primoplan lens, which is an M42 threaded mount instead of a bayonet type. I got an adapter ring for this purpose this month, and these pics are from the test roll. I used Efke 100 film in existing light, using the camera's match-needle meter. Developed in Acufine.

May 2010: I just got an SMC Takumar/4 200mm lens in M-42 mount, and tried it out on the F-1. See captions for info.
