I know very little about this camera, other than that I'd bid on several at eBay over the past few years, only to balk at the continuing growth of the final price. It behooved me to wait until one came along that was more affordable, and that happened in late 2010. An acquaintance who lives in Holland knew of my search, and found one for me that was not only affordable, it was in better condition than some of the others I'd attempted to buy previously.
Not much information is available about this camera, unfortunately. It was made in Italy in the 1950s by the Ferrania Co., an organization known primarily for film manufacturing. It is a faux-TLR, having a brilliant viewfinder that doesn't focus with the taking lens. Its minimum focus is one meter. The lens is an Anastigmatico Ferrania with apertures of f/6.3, 9, 12.5 and 18; and the shutter has speeds of 25, 50, 100 and 200, with B. A nifty feature is a uniquely designed, built-in sports-finder. That silver upside-down "U" shown in the pic slides back into the lower black framing, to lock in place.
I've shot only one roll of film with it so far (Ilford FP-4, dev. in Acufine for 4 min. @ 20C), but what I got is pretty dang good for a zone-focus fake TLR. By the way, it has a PC-type flash connection, which is very convenient, not being forced to look for a Ferrania-only flash attachment.
