For the past four years the American Heart Association's Corpus Christi branch has sponsored a photo contest in support of women's heart disease research. (This year the categories have been expanded to include different types of art.) The images in this gallery were shot with the contest in mind. The first three photos in this gallery were the ones I chose to submit, and the very first one was selected for the contest. I didn't win anything, but this image ended up in their 2009 calendar, which was pretty gratifying.
