Hawkeye Conversion Project
Hawkeye Conversion Project
Based on an idea by Diwan Bhathal, posted in a forum at nelsonfoto.com, I have converted one of my Brownie Hawkeyes to take both a cable release and a tripod. The pictures, I hope, show it all.

To find out more, try googling "Brownie Hawkeye conversion" or a similar phrase and see what comes up, or go to the website mentioned above and use their forum search engine.

(BTW, as of 24SEP08, typing the above phrase in Google and clicking on "I'm Feeling Lucky" will take you to my own initial forum entry at nelsonfoto.com...it's fun to be popular!)

APRIL 2009: The pics of the tattooed lady constitute the first time I used this converted Hawkeye as it was modified to perform, i.e., mounted on a tripod, in "bulb", using a cable release. These were all "one-one-thousand" exposures. Lighting was a single 200w tungsten light in reflector.

OCT 2009:The color photos starting at the bottom of page 1 and continuing to p. 2 were shot specifically for a multimedia presentation which I helped to create for the Corpus Christi Chorale's Fall Performance. I'm not especially religious, but I like the music and the architecture. Some of these, especially those that appear to be close-ups, are actually crops.

August 2010: Since I'd already gone and drilled some holes in my BHF, I decided that what it really needed was some strap lugs! The last 4 pics show how that looks (and I think it looks dang sharp!).
