Kodak Medalist II
Kodak Medalist II
This was once one of the prizes of my collection. I got it on eBay in 2001 and for a while it was used all the time.

The Ektar lens is top notch even at 50+ years old, and the rangefinder, though not coupled to the viewfinder, is very accurate. The only drawback is that it takes 620 film, and you only get 8 images, but with a camera like this, you could say that every one of them counts.

The photos numbered 1-8 below, from Spring 2009, constitute the final roll of film I shot in the Medalist II, because I found someone who will probably use it more often than I have over the past few years. The film used was actual 620 Anscopan film, of unknown vintage but probably close to 40 years old. I developed it in D-76 at a 1:1 solution for 9 minutes, giving it a little extra time due to its age. I guess that worked.

Sayonara, Medalist, or rather I should say adios, because you're now in the hands of a photographer in Mexico.
