A bare-bones, no-frills point-n-shoot box camera produced by the Herbert George Co. in the 1960s, the Savoy (or Imperial Savoy, as it's also known) did not come only in the gorgeous sea-foam green color that mine is. Many choices were available: red, brown, off-white...every color, it seems, but black, which for years was the standard color for box cameras.
With fixed focus and one shutter speed, this model was for intended for use outdoors on a sunny day. I got mine in a trade (my Mamiya C220 for two Contax/Kiev lenses, this camera, and a bunch of other stuff), and it came with the instruction pamphlet in a plain cardboard box with a mailing label from a car dealership, so this was one of those giveaway cameras, I guess.
The pics here (with exception of "Self-Portrait") were shot on New Year's Eve 2009 (the day before 2010), and it was a beautiful, bright, sunny day, perfect conditions for this baby.
