Another lovely model from the Kodak London line, the Brownie E was manufactured between 1947-1953, but a later model with the same name had a different faceplate (similar to the Brownie D in my collection). This is a recent addition to my collection, received just prior to Six-20 Camera Day 2011 and used during that weekend (June 18-20) to no viable result: during the in-and-out of the camera bag, the "I/B" switch got shifted to half-way between and every frame was overexposed.

At least, I think that's what happened, so I shot a second roll as a test. The first eight pics here are the result, the 1937 Ford V-8. Many of these images, especially the full-length ones, were cropped in Photoshop -- I need to remember that the viewfinder does not show everything that will appear in the picture, and step in closer to my subject by 2 or 3 paces.

The Brownie E has more features than most box cameras of its day: built-in yellow and close-up filters, "I/B" function, and a shutter lock switch; it also has flash contacts similar to those on the Brownie D. This means I can use the Kodak Flasholder originally designed for the Brownie Reflex Synchro Model -- uncannily, it fits perfectly.
